This vibrant scene includes players of all levels, age & experience from casual enthusiasts to top-tier competitors, many of whom have excelled both nationally and internationally. Irish players have earned high placements and scored notable wins against world champion opponents in England, France, Japan and more.

Guilty Gear Strive has rapidly become a cornerstone of the Irish fighting game scene, transforming what was once a niche community for earlier titles like Accent Core and Xrd into one of the most dynamic and diverse competitive scenes in the country.
Released during COVID with best-in-class rollback netcode, Strive attracted a wave of new players, many of whom began their FGC journeys with this game and now rank among Ireland’s top talent.
Alongside them are seasoned competitors from other anime fighters like Under Night In-Birth and BlazBlue, bringing experience and intensity to any competition. Following strong community interest and player support, UNI2 was officially added as a stretch goal title for Emerald Circuit 2025, giving the game a larger competitive platform and helping spotlight the growing demand for anime fighters within the Irish and UK FGC. Local players have continued to develop the scene through regular meetups, online sessions, and tournament appearances, building connections with wider European communities and strengthening the game’s presence regionally.
