Street Fighter 6

IGM Emerald Circuit Leaderboard

The Street Fighter community in Ireland is much like other nations. A dedicated and passionate group of competitors whose roots trace back to the arcades of the 1990s, evolving into its modern form around 2009 with the release of Street Fighter IV at training grounds like Dublin’s XGC and Galway's FightHouse.

This vibrant scene includes players of all levels, age & experience from casual enthusiasts to top-tier competitors, many of whom have excelled both nationally and internationally. Irish players have earned high placements and scored notable wins against world champion opponents in England, France, Japan and more.

With Season 3 on the horizon, the community remains energized, driven by a mix of veteran talent and rising stars, and supported by events across the island that foster skill, respect, and connection.

Tekken 8

The Tekken scene in Ireland is a highly skilled and competitive group that saw a major surge in players during the mid-2010s with the release of Tekken 7.

Since then, Irish players have become regular contenders on the international stage, traveling to events like VersusFighting in the UK and Headstomper in Sweden to earn points toward Tekken World Tour Finals qualification

In their home turf, IGM Showdown tournaments have become recognized dojo events on the TWT, helping to grow the scene and spotlight talent. The end of Tekken 7 and the launch of Tekken 8 have brought a wave of new faces, all eager to make their mark on the Emerald Circuit 2025. Backed by a strong network of events across the country and online, the Irish Tekken scene continues to thrive and gain respect, recognized as one of Europe's strongest regions.

Guilty Gear Strive

IGM Emerald Circuit Leaderboard

Guilty Gear Strive has rapidly become a cornerstone of the Irish fighting game scene, transforming what was once a niche community for earlier titles like Accent Core and Xrd into one of the most dynamic and diverse competitive scenes in the country.

Released during COVID with best-in-class rollback netcode, Strive attracted a wave of new players, many of whom began their FGC journeys with this game and now rank among Ireland’s top talent.

Alongside them are seasoned competitors from other anime fighters like Under Night In-Birth and BlazBlue, bringing experience and intensity to any competition. Irish Strive players have made their mark online and at Arc World Tour qualifiers across Europe, and with the 2025 Emerald Circuit on the horizon, the next goal is clear: bring home that championship.

Fueled by a welcoming culture and community spirit, Guilty Gear Strive continues to thrive in Ireland.
